Week 21 – The Egg Carton

So, its the week before Christmas…( and yes, I’m late in editing pictures and publishing blog posts πŸ˜‰ )

My belly exploded, people that hadn’t seen me for a couple of days or even hours did double takes. Picture people walking into door frames while turning heads to see me, the new whale, stomp down the hallway. Crazy! I definitely caught my husband staring incredulously several times. My organs and such seemed to have trouble keeping up, and therefore the fun did cause me to be able to decorate the Christmas tree like this: hang ornament 1, hang orament 2, lie down for five minutes. Hang ornament 3, 4, and …no, lie down again. Tremendously painful, and I didn’t even get a picture as we were already done for that week. The belly did deflate again afterwards, which I thought was weird. I asked my OB about it during the next appointment, and she said it’s typical for this week, as this is when the uterus really moves out of the pelvis area (does this make sense?? It’s still in my pelvis, isn’t it? Maybe I am confused. πŸ˜‰ ) and things can look huge until everything resettles again.

Otherwise, everything is fine, looking forward to our next ultrasound after Christmas! πŸ™‚

As to this week’s chosen food, we are now in head-to-toe measurement zone, meaning the proportions are a bit weird. I figured a weird choice of food would complement that, egg cartons seem to have the same size as a 21 week old fetus (at least in Germany πŸ˜‰ ). And yes, I know you can’t eat an egg carton, but so what. πŸ˜‰
