Week 22 – The Chocolate Cake

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

After the festivities, the fun didn’t stop as between renovating and getting re-energized after all the food and family time, we had another appointment at the OB. Things were a bit rushed, as I suspect they had quite a few women to see after the holidays, but we did have time to take a sneak peak. Ok, it feels weird to have three adults squinting intently at the screen, trying to discern whether or not something can be seen. But, either way, we were very excited to find out that we are most probably expecting another girl! πŸ˜€

According to , it is more likely a girl if:

“You and your partner are 40 or over, you suffer badly from pregnancy sicknessΒ , you were born in a tropical climate and conceived thereΒ , your baby was conceived in the winter,Β Dad-to-be’s job involves pollutants or stressΒ (such as a high performance pilot or a deep sea diver).” No to all of the above, so there you have it. Maybe we should look for both boy and girl names just to be on the safe side. πŸ˜€

DD has accepted this gender change without batting an eye lash; she has always told us that there is a baby boy in my belly but now tells everyone that it’s a girl. She has also informed me that the baby is going to come out of my belly (while pointing to the correct area in question, which is sort of freaky as neither my husband nor I have ever really told her where babies do come out. Glad she figured it out on her own, this will make the birds-and-bees talk so much easier! πŸ˜‰ ) and then snuggle with her in bed. Alright then, glad that’s settled. πŸ™‚

In other news, my sister has been able to feel the suspected baby girl kick, things are definitely picking up on the movement-front, and we do in fact think we might have a name. Will be secret though in case we change our minds. πŸ˜‰

As for the 23 week-sized baby, I was baking and pondering over which vegetable to manipulate to be 25 cm long. Ha, 25 cm is the diameter of my baking pan, so there you have it. And girls DO like chocolate, so it’s perfect for this week. πŸ˜€

Week 20 – The Banana

Here it is, the week where I get to decide whether to go with a 16.51 head-to-rump or 25 cm head-to-toe measurement. Difficult decisions, these are. πŸ˜‰ Decided to go with a banana (shorter version), an unfortunately somewhat brownish one at that. Must get higher quality fruit next time. πŸ˜‰

Otherwise, again, very stressed out at work and in the frantic frenzy of realizing that there are only X days left until Christmas, and no, I am not finished with getting all presents organized. Maybe next year I will be superprepared and have lists and all ready and well under way in November. *cough*

This week, we signed a new lease, which means we are going to move in January/February. Our children will finally have their own room! πŸ˜€ This is exciting, but really scary because now on top of all the work I’d like to get done before Nr. 2 arrives, we also have to renovate an entire apartment including floors. But, I guess it’ll be nice and fancy for when he or she arrives! πŸ™‚

Also, FINALLY DH has felt the baby kick. Phew. I was somewhat anxiously anticipating this, as during my first pregnancy this already happened much earlier. Let’s blame the Christmas frenzy. πŸ˜‰

As there is not much else to report, can you guess how the following google search ended up on this page: “girl about to fall off ledge drunk” ? I can’t. Of all the possible google searches, THIS is what ends up on my blog? πŸ˜€ “Girl hitting belly” is also a favorite. Very related to a pregancy blog…

As to the pictures, the weather currently sucks, no sun for weeks on end, and by the time we usually head outdoors, what little light is left has disappeared. Ugh. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find changing settings, this is in our bed, and talk about a toddler gone wild. πŸ˜‰ There are few pictures with her not jumping up and down, and in most, she’s trying to eat the banana. πŸ˜€
